The Tanzanian side defeated Burundi's Dynamo, KPA and Elan Coton of Benin to book a place in the next round
The schedule and groups for the Elite 16 qualifying round for season four of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) were confirmed following a draw ceremony held in Gaborone, Botswana, on Monday, October 23.
Fifteen of the sixteen teams from the East and West Divisions were divided into four groups of four teams each.
According to FIBA Africa's Competition Department, "the principle is to have two balanced groups [for each division] and avoid having more than two teams that faced each other in the group phase drawn in the same Elite 16 group."
The draw took place while Group D was still ongoing in Gaborone to determine the last qualified team. A wild card to complete the Elite 16 line-up will be confirmed next week, according to FIBA Africa.
Both Forces Armees et Police (FAP) of Cameroon and Bangui Sporting Club (Central African Republic) are the co-hosts of West Division Elite 16, which will take place in Yaounde, Cameroon, from October 31 to November 5.
The East Division Elite 16 will run from November 14 to November 19 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
